Will I be able to upgrade to Sierra directly from Maverick,

If you want, you can download El Capitan yet today. When the download is complete, it will ask to install. Press Command+Q to quit the process. You can then:


1) Copy the El Capitan installer from the Applications folder to an external drive to be used at any later point and then delete the download.


2) Delete the download without saving it. Once in your list of "purchases" for your account, it will always be there and you can retrieve it at any time.


If the past is any indicator, El Capitan will disappear tomorrow with the announced release date of the 20th for Sierra. So get El Capitan now if you want access to it later.
